Development of eServices for eGoverment

It has now been several years that people in Bulgaria talk about and work on eGoverment. This hot topic not only concerns the public as direct participants and users but it also concerns us – current and future developers of services. Fortunately, one of the best experts in defining and creating such services for eGoverment is our colleague Martin Valkanov, who shared his knowledge with his colleagues on June 4th.

The goal of this presentation was to introduce the entire team involved in the analysis, development and integration of eServices for eGoverment to the challenges of architecture, components and collaboration in eGoverment, how eServices are developed, what are the conventions and the technological requirements.

The highlights of the presentation were:

- Overall architecture and infrastructure of eGoverment;
- Main componenets of eGoverment;
- Unified enviroment for document transfer – details and requirements for integration;
- Types of eServices;
- Processes for applying and using eServices;
- eService – requirements, main elements, applying integration with eGoverment;
- Registers for operative compatibility – what are they, how to use them and whose responsibility is to complete them;
- What should we know when developing eService;
- What phases are followed when developing eServices and how to estimate time frames and budgets.

Martin had prepared information and examples that he shared with us, he also answered all our questions and promised more presentations covering specific cases regarding eServices for eGoverment.

Teambuilding in Troyan

The teams of Vereo and eBG.bg gathered last weekend for another teambuilding activity, hosted by the beautiful town of Troyan in the Stara Planina and the kind team of the Troyan Plaza hotel.

At a special presentation, the teams of Vereo and eBG.bg became acquainted with the ongoing projects, new initiatives and development trends within the two companies.

The sunny weather and beautiful nature further lifted our emotions during the outdoor activities.

The paint ball competition went amid vehement emotions and clever strategies. The chronicles found it hard to determine the winners and the losers…

Horse riding and walks in the open air gave us a lot of energy and desire to come back to this part of our country in the future.

Vereo presents its UCM experience within Oracle Technology Day

On April 14 the Hilton Hotel hosted an Oracle Technology Day dedicated to Oracle Enterprise 2.0

Within the framework of the partnership session, Vereo presented its experience and expertise in the internet portal solutions development using Oracle UCM (Universal Content Management). The presentation focused on the upgrade, extension and integration of Oracle UCM, as well as on the internationalization, cluster work and migration of a large volume of structured and non-structured information sets.

The event attracted great interest among the audience and provided them with an opportunity to become acquainted the proved advantages of Oracle UCM as a corporate solution for the building of web portals.

Mrs. Maya Mihaylova, Project Manager at Vereo, was the lecturer of the presentation. A team of Vereo specialists, who were involved in the development of the unique extensions, promptly replied to the numerous questions addressed by the audience.

Oracle Bulgaria addressed credits for the successful and fruitful co-operation.

Presentation of the first in Bulgaria web portal for software solutions MyWebRiver.com to colleagues from Vereo

On the 26th of August 2008 in the City Hotel in Sofia, an internal Vereo event took place, where MyWebRiver.com team officially introduced the new platform-as-a-service to the company employees.

During the presentation, the most important features of the solution were mentioned to tickle the curiosity of the audience. The event included demonstrations of the first integrated with the platform applications.

On 18.04.2008 the Vereo team had a knowledge collaboration seminar. Leading experts in the development of enterprise solutions presented hot topics from the software industry. OSGi, Spring Framework, C# 3.0 and Linq were among the subjects covered.

The event took place in Park Hotel Moskva and was attended by 50 IT professionals. The results from the opinion poll are not yet announced but rumour has it that the whole Vereo crew find such events very useful and the next one is already on the line to be set up. There are quite a few technology gurus and seasoned presenters in Vereo so the list of topic suggestions for next event is rather long but we aim to grant everyone an opportunity to share their knowledge and experience

The Bulgarian Association of Software Developers (BASD) and VEREO organize a seminar and open discussion on topics about the software development. Lecturers will be Mihail Mihailov from Rammsoft and Stefan Kiryazov from VEREO.

The lecturers will talk about the following topics:
- Rapid development;
- Development estimation techniques;
- Usability consideration for web applications.

The seminar will take place on 20th February at 18:00 in park-hotel Moskva, Kiev hall. There is no subscription for the seminar and everyone interested is invited.
