Data Warehousing System for “Banking Supervision” Department of BNB
The Data Warehousing (DWH) system is an electronic system used by the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) to supervise all banks in Bulgaria. It uses information submitted by banks to determine their overall and current state based on complicated business rules. Data Marts for business intelligence analysis have been implemented using Oracle technologies such as Oracle Discoverer Plus/Viewer.
The DWH project is part of BNB's strategy to build a modern information infrastructure for centralized warehousing and management of data, providing modern means for access, review and analysis of bank information. The project is aimed at securing information servicing of the decision making process in the fulfillment of the bank's main functions.
The project includes reports generated by the bank supervision system and additional necessary data providing supervisory information used in the management of BNB's Banking Supervision department and the related processes involving the collection, storage and processing of data in the data warehousing system.
